Starting your tour by taking deluxe flight to Beijing, cross the international date line.
DAY 02 Arriving Beijing
Arrive in Beijing-the capital of China. Nexus Holidays tour guide greets you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel.
DAY 03 Beijing
Beijing served as the capital of 5 dynasties over a period of 800 years with each emperor identified as a dragon sent from the heaven. Start your city tour with a visit to the Forbidden City. This complex, the largest and most intact conglomeration of ancient structures of the imperial palace ever built in the world, features more than 800 buildings with 9999 rooms, resplendent golden-glazed roofs, red lacquered pillars and vermilion walls. Next stop is the Tiananmen Square, the largest public square in the world, its monuments and buildings situated around the square’s perimeter. Then tour to the Temple of Heaven, which was used to offer sacrifices to heaven and pray for good harvest in ancient times. Enjoy the famous Peking Duck dinner in the evening.
DAY 04 Beijing
The highlight today is a trip to the astonishing Great Wall at Juyongguan Pass. The Great Wall is the most famous image of China throughout the world. It is the only man-made object visible from the moon, and as one of the Eight Wonders of the world. It is a symbol of Chinese traditional culture and the pride of the Chinese nation. Later visit the Sacred Path of Ming Tombs, 13 of the 16 Ming emperors have their tombs here. This is an attractive destination as much for the natural scenery of the area as for the tombs themselves. Visit the Cloisonne Factory and the biggest Jade Exhibition Center in Asia. Followed by a tricycle tour to the historic Hutong and Alley of Beijing old town, take in the sights and sounds of Beijing of olden times. Enjoy the famous acrobatic show in the evening.
DAY 05 Beijing
Tour to the Summer Palace in the morning, the largest ancient preserved garden in China and a former summer resort for Emperors and the chosen few. Then visit Silk Carpet Factory. After lunch you will be transferred back to the hotel for your free time, dinner is on your own.
DAY 06 BeijingQXian
Fly to Xian in the morning, the first Chinese city to open up its doors to the ancient world during the Tang Dynasty as the first stop on the Silk Road. Over a period of more than 2000 years, Xian was the capital for eleven dynasties. Along with Rome and Constantinople, this city was a world leader in culture and trade and played a vital role in bridging the gap between east and west. Upon arrival visit the Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses, the attached defending army to the first emperor of China, it is regarded as “the eighth wonder of the world” and among the top archaeological excavations of the 20th century. Enjoy the Dumpling Banquet dinner and Tang Dynasty Singing and Dancing Show in the evening.
DAY 07 Xian
Sightseeing the Shaanxi Provincial History Museum in the morning, after lunch visit the Ancient City Wall, it is not only the most complete city wall that has survived in China, but it’s also one of the largest and most complete ancient military defence systems in the world. Then tour to the Large Wild Goose Pagoda, the symbol of the city, it is said to have been built to house and protect Buddhist scriptures collected by the Chinese monk, Xuan Zang, the key figure in Journey to the West. The day will end with visit to the Porcelain Terra Cotta Warriors Factory.
DAY 08 XianQGuilin
Fly to Guilin, the city which is hailed by many as the most beautiful place in China and is one of the must-see destinations for most foreign tourists. According to a popular Chinese saying, Guilin’s scenery bests all others in the world. Its shapely-rising limestone towers and crystal-clear waters are often portrayed in Chinese artworks. Adding to its natural beauty are many fascinating caves. Sightseeing the Elephant Trunk Hill. After visiting Guilin Art Museum, you will be transferred back to the hotel to take rest. In the evening you will be treated with a Minority Dancing and Singing Show.
DAY 09 Guilin
Take a boat cruise trip from Guilin along the Lijiang River for one of the finest excursions on your tour of China. The journey downstream to Yangshuo offers 30 miles of breathtaking scenery. Sightseeing the Reed Flute Cave. The limestone karst formation in this area is extensively eroded underground and Reed Flute Cave is one of the finest examples of these caves. Visit the free market.
DAY 10 GuilinQShanghai
In the morning fly to Shanghai-the largest commercial and financial center of China. Stroll the Nanjing Road and the Bund (Wai Tan) waterfront area, a sweeping area along the Huangpu River, where used to be foreign concessions and now is the symbol of modern Shanghai. Here is the best place to capture the western influence of the old days. Visit the Yuyuan Garden and the Old City Temple. After dinner you may take optional tour, the night cruise on the Huangpu River at your own expense (¥150 RMB).
DAY 11 Shanghai
Visit the Shanghai Museum in the morning. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure, and dinner will be on your own.
DAY 12 ShanghaivSuzhouvWuxi
Take coach to Suzhou after breakfast. Suzhou has been praised as the “Paradise on the Earth” since ancient times and is an extraordinarily delicate and elegant city. Known as “Venice of the East”, Suzhou is built around Grand Canal. The city’s many excellent classical gardens have entitled Suzhou the “Garden City”. Our sightseeing includes the Tiger Hill, Garden of the Master of the Nets. Followed by a boat cruise on the Grand Canal and a visit to the silk mills. Travel by motor coach to Wuxi after enjoying the Silk Fashion Show. Stay overnight in Wuxi.
DAY 13 Wuxi
Wuxi is also one of the oldest cities in China with a history of more than 3000 years. Visit the Turtle Head Penisular Park, where you can enjoy the beauty of the Lake Tai, the third- largest lake in China. Visit the Three Kingdom Movie Site, which is called “the Hollywood in China”, and the Freshwater Pearls Farm.
DAY 14 WuxivWuzhenvHangzhou
Take coach to Wuzhen after breakfast, a quiet Water Town with 1300 years history, small bridges here and there. Take a paddle-wood-boat ride across the small water town, then travel to Hangzhou. Upon arrival take the boat cruise on the magnificent West Lake, the symbol of the city and crammed full of interesting sights.
DAY 15 HangzhouQGuangzhou
Hangzhou is a city with a rich history and culture. Marco Polo described this place as “the most beautiful and magnificent city in the world”. Visit the Yellow Dragon Cave, taste the well-known Dragon Well Tea at the No.1 tea plantation. Fly to Guangzhou in the afternoon. As capital of Guangdong, Guangzhou is most well-known for being an economic power house as well as a paradise for epicures. The central part of the city is occupied by religious venues, bearing evidence of the vicissitudes of the different cultural periods that Guangzhou has undergone. Visit the Temple of Family Chen upon arrival.
DAY 16 GuangzhoutHong Kong
Take train to Hong Kong in the morning, you will be transferred to the hotel. The rest of the day is free on your own.
DAY 17 Hong Kong
Whole day free on you own. No meals will be included. You may take the optional tour on your own expense, half day seat-in coach tour of Hong Kong (HK$200).
DAY 18 Hong KongQHometown
Tour guide will transfer you to the airport and home your sweet home. |
