DAY 02 Arriving Beijing

DAY 03 Beijing
Beijing served as the capital of 5 dynasties over a period of 800 years with each emperor identified as a dragon sent from the heaven. Start your city tour with a visit to the Forbidden City. This complex, the largest and most intact conglomeration of ancient structures of the imperial palace ever built in the world, features more than 800 buildings with 9999 rooms, resplendent golden-glazed roofs, red lacquered pillars and vermilion walls. Next stop is the Tiananmen Square, the largest public square in the world, its monuments and buildings situated around the square’s perimeter. Then tour to the Temple of Heaven, which was used to offer sacrifices to heaven and pray for good harvest in ancient times. Enjoy the famous Peking Duck dinner in the evening.
DAY 04 Beijing
The highlight today is a trip to the astonishing Great Wall at Juyongguan Pass. The Great Wall is the most famous image of China throughout the world. It is the only man-made object visible from the moon, and as one of the Eight Wonders of the world. It is a symbol of Chinese traditional culture and the pride of the Chinese nation. Later visit the Sacred Path of Ming Tombs, 13 of the 16 Ming emperors have their tombs here. This is an attractive destination as much for the natural scenery of the area as for the tombs themselves. Visit the Cloisonne Factory and the biggest Jade Exhibition Center in Asia. Followed by a tricycle tour to the historic Hutong and Alley of Beijing old town, take in the sights and sounds of Beijing of olden times. Enjoy the famous acrobatic show in the evening.
DAY 05 Beijing
Tour to the Summer Palace in the morning, the largest ancient preserved garden in China and a former summer resort for Emperors and the chosen few. Then visit fresh water pearls exhibition center. After lunch you will be transferred back to the hotel for your free time, dinner is on your own.
DAY 06 BeijingQKunming
Fly to Kunming in the morning. Kunming, as the capital city of Yunnan, has the best climate of all Chinese cities, popularly known as the “Spring City”. The long history, many minority nationalities and the unique natural resources help to make the city rich and colourful, filled with historical and cultural relics as well as exquisite natural beauty. sightsee the Western Hills and the Dragon Gate. The Hills resemble a reclining maiden lying on the banks of Dianchi Lake with her long hair flowing down into the lake. As a result, the Western Hills have the nickname of “A Sleeping Beauty Hills”. Then tour to the Grand View Pavilion.
DAY 07 Kunming
Whole day tour to the Stone Forest and Jiuxiang Scenic Area. Due to a process of weathering and erosion, nature has created an art gallery of stone sculpture here. This typical karst physiognomy takes the form of a forest of stone pillars and boulders. It is as if the countless stone shapes have sprung from the ground, assuming different shapes as if vying to surpass each other in grandeur and sublime beauty. Jiuxiang is also a major Kunming tourist attraction famous for its limestone caves. Enjoy local cuisine dinner.
DAY 08 KunmingQZhongdian
Fly to Shangri- La—Zhongdian in the morning. In Tibetan, Shangri- La means a place of good fortune and luck. Here is a sacred scenic region with distinguishing features. Upon arrival sightseeing the Shudu Lake and the beautiful Shangri-La Grassland.
DAY 09 ZhongdianvLijiang
This morning we journey by coach to Lijiang, the cultural center of the Naxi Minority. On the way we will sightsee the Tiger Leaping Gorge. The gorge itself is tucked neatly between the Yulong Snow Mountain and Haba Snow Mountain, which surround its two sides. Lijiang has beautiful landscapes and is incredibly rich in cultural resources. Gaze in wonder at the sights and sounds of this ancient city as you walk down the cobblestone streets preserved for over 700 years. We see that the Naxi way of life has changed very little over time. A short bus ride away is Black Dragon Pond, where we take a leisurely stroll around the pristine surroundings. Visit the minority village.
DAY 10 Lijiang
The Old Town of Lijiang, also known as Dayan Town, the capital of Lijiang, was first built at the beginning of the Yuan Dynasty. This town is known as "Oriental Venice", or "Suzhou on the Plateau", with water flowing past almost every household, and every home surrounded by picturesque willow trees. Visit the Baisha Village, the ancient capital of the Naxi Kingdom. The Baisha Frescoes with their fine and smooth lines, bright colors, vivid pattern and balanced and harmonious composition are a wonderful sight. They are not only crucial to the history of Chinese painting, but are important cultural heritage relics too. Enjoy the afternoon at your own leisure with the dinner on your own.
DAY 11 LijiangvDali
Early morning take coach to Dali, home of the Bai Minority Group. Dali is a 600-year-old town featuring stone walls, grey-tilted roofs, doors and windows carved with dragon and phoenix patterns. It also features beautiful gardens, and the entire town is covered by a maze of streams fed by runoffs from Cangshan Mountains. Take the cruise on the Erhai Lake. Get first hand experience of local daily life as we visit a Bai Minority Village, tasting famous "Three Courses Tea." Sightseeing the famous "Three Elegant Pagodas," an outstanding landmark of the region and the ancient city.
DAY 12 DaliQKunmingQGuilin
Fly to Guilin via Kunming, the city which is hailed by many as the most beautiful place in China and is one of the must-see destinations for most foreign tourists. According to a popular Chinese saying, Guilin’s scenery bests all others in the world. Its shapely-rising limestone towers and crystal-clear waters are often portrayed in Chinese artworks. Adding to its natural beauty are many fascinating caves. Sightseeing the Elephant Trunk Hill upon arrival. In the evening you will be treated with a Minority Dancing and Singing Show.
DAY 13 Guilin
Take a boat cruise trip from Guilin along the Lijiang River for one of the finest excursions on your tour of China. The journey downstream to Yangshuo offers 30 miles of breathtaking scenery. Sightseeing the Reed Flute Cave. The limestone karst formation in this area is extensively eroded underground and Reed Flute Cave is one of the finest examples of these caves. Visit Guilin Art Museum.
DAY 14 GuilinQShanghai
In the morning fly to Shanghai-the largest commercial and financial center of China. Stroll the Nanjing Road and the Bund (Wai Tan) waterfront area, a sweeping area along the Huangpu River, where used to be foreign concessions and now is the symbol of modern Shanghai. Here is the best place to capture the western influence of the old days. Visit the Yuyuan Garden and the Old City Temple. After dinner you may take optional tour, the night cruise on the Huangpu River at your own expense (¥150 RMB).
DAY 15 Shanghai
Visit the Shanghai Museum and the Silk Exhibition Center in the morning. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure, and dinner will be on your own.
DAY 16 ShanghaiQHometown
